Introduction to the Inspection and Testing courses
The EAL 4337 and 4338 qualifications are the equivalent of the City & Guilds 2391-50 and 2391-51 (or combined City & Guilds 2391-52) qualifications. They are ECA, NICEIC & JIB recognised.
Candidates should already hold the City & Guilds 2392-10 qualification prior to attending this course.

Who is this qualification for?
Electricians who wish to carry out the inspection, testing and commissioning of electrical installations and those who wish to acquire new knowledge and skills.
What does it cover?
The application of knowledge involved with the inspection and testing of electrical installations.
It has one unit, covering safe isolation, initial verification requirements, inspection, testing and certification.
What is this qualification?
This Award gives the learner an understanding of the theory and practice of the initial verification and commissioning of both single and three phase electrical installations.
The qualification follows BS 7671 and the industry recognised IET Guidance Note 3, as well as the Electrical Safely Council’s Best Practice Guides.
The Award gives an opportunity for individuals to develop and/or enhance their knowledge and skills in the inspection and testing of single and three phase low voltage electrical installations.
How is the qualification delivered?
The qualification is delivered completely at the Centre, with a mix of workshop and theory sessions.
How is the qualification assessed?
The assessment involves one on-screen open book exam (IET GN3) and practical assessments covering initial inspection, earth fault loop impedance testing, insulation resistance testing, and commissioning of a three phase rig.
Course Content
You will need to bring a copy of the Blue version of the IET Wiring Regulations BS7671:2018. The On Site Guide, IET Guidance Note 3 Inspection and Testing.

It has one unit, covering safe isolation, condition reporting requirements, periodic inspection, testing interpreting test results and certification.

This Award gives the learner an understanding of the theory and practice of periodic inspection, testing and condition reporting, of both single and three phase electrical installations.
The qualification follows BS 7671 and the industry recognised IET Guidance Note 3, as well as the Electrical Safely Council’s Best Practice Guides.
The Award gives an opportunity for individuals to develop and/or enhance their knowledge and skills in the periodic inspection and testing of single and three phase low voltage electrical installations.
